Born and raised in North Alabama until 1987 when I met my wife, Amanda. In 1988, we were married and that is when the journey began. Days after the wedding I joined the US Army and served until 1993. Born and raised in North Alabama until 1987 when I met my wife, Amanda. In 1988, we were married and that is when the journey began. Days after the wedding I joined the US Army and served until 1993. While in, I served in Germany and at Ft. Benning, GA. After I got out of the Army I went into Gospel ministry serving as Youth Pastor and later lead pastor in Phenix City, Alabama; Eagle River, Alaska; Ouray, Colorado and then back to Alabama. In 2008, I entered full-time Army National Guard service with the 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and retired with 20 years in 2023.
Amanda and I have planted three Cowboy churches in the later part of our ministry service. Currently, we are still pastoring the third one which we were blessed to have been at thirteen years. Over the course of my life, I have served in the military, volunteer fire departments, law enforcement in two states, and as a hunting guide in the mountains of Southwest Colorado. Currently, besides pastoring, I work for a large cattle operation as a cowboy/herdsman. I have three biological children, one adopted son and five grandchildren.
The Templars appeal to me because life is all about serving others, standing for justice and developing a greater relationship with Christ. This is not just what I do, it is who I am at my core. Since retiring from military service, I have searched for a place of greater service and accountability. I am excited to see what adventures await in this brotherhood.
