My favorite way to start my morning devotions is to pray these verses from Psalm 51 written by King David upon acknowledging his sinful self and seeking to be more Christ-like. I also respect the fact that it took David a while to get to this point to gain the humility to pray accordingly acknowledging His need for conviction from the Holy Spirit. This is a process, and if we stumble or tarry then we are certainly in good company and shouldn’t be unnecessarily harsh on ourselves!

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right[b] spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
I find this opens my heart to acknowledge my sinful self and seek the way of the Cross. Jesus. The Way. The Truth. The Life. As we approach midweek let us never let down our guard, remaining steadfast in our devotion and vigilance to His Service. Brothers and Sisters may you all be blessed as we stand ready on the Watchtower in His Service! Deus Vult!
