14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:9-21 ESV
I always heard folks say when confronted with what they perceived as a real challenge , ‘Well that’s a tall order!’ It seemed unattainable. A great and wonderful ideal, but served better for those cut from a different cloth. And I think this differentiates between a fan and a follower as outlined by the book ‘Not a Fan’ which I just finished. Now as I tackle ‘The Resolution for Men’ which I have read before, and given copies to all my sons and son in laws previously, I am revisiting this for resolve to live a life committed to Christ. Embracing the virtues of the Knights Templar, called into bold service for Christ, and commanded by Christ to walk with God. There will be daily challenges! But He has given us tremendous POWER, the power of the Holy Spirit within us. So today I claim that power and choose to live in the solution and not the problem. Sometimes I am the problem. So I remember scripture that tells me I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. Even when that seems like a ‘tall order’. Be blessed, not stressed my fellow disciples and be bold for Christ! Deus Vult!
