Paul Rotondo was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1962 and raised on Staten Island, where he continues to reside. He has dedicated his life to education, faith, and service, striving to live out the call to serve God through service to others.

Paul earned a Bachelor of Art degree in History and Secondary Education from King’s College (PA), a Master of Arts in History from Binghamton University (NY), and a Professional Certificate in Educational Leadership and School Supervision from the City University of New York, College of Staten Island. His academic and professional journey reflects a deep commitment to educational excellence and leadership development.

A lifelong practicing Roman Catholic, Paul was baptized at Our Lady of Angels Parish in Brooklyn. Guided by the principles of faith, fraternity, and charity, he has consistently sought to integrate Gospel values into both his personal and professional life. In the spirit of OMSDT, he is committed to fostering a strong sense of brotherhood, supporting the spiritual growth of others, and answering the call to serve those most in need. His work with charitable organizations throughout New York City reflects this dedication to service, particularly in supporting children and families facing adversity.

Paul currently serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in Educational Administration and Leadership at CUNY Lehman College and SUNY Stony Brook University, where he mentors aspiring school leaders and emphasizes ethical leadership grounded in service and moral responsibility. Previously, he served as Superintendent of Citywide Transfer Schools and District 12 High Schools for the New York City Department of Education, providing leadership and support to more than 50 high schools across New York City.

Over the course of his 36-year career in education, Paul has been recognized for his steadfast commitment to serving “at-risk” and underserved student populations. His career includes eleven years as a high school principal, six years as an assistant principal, and thirteen years as a classroom teacher. Throughout his work, he has embraced the belief, central to both his faith and OMSDT’s mission, that every individual possesses inherent dignity and deserves the opportunity to succeed.

Paul is the proud father of three adult children; all raised in the Catholic faith. He was married for 30 years to his beloved wife, Margaret O’Neill, whose courageous battle with ALS and deep faith continue to inspire his life of service. In his daily activities, Paul strives to live out his vocation through faith, service, and fraternity.
