Today, we celebrate 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence—a milestone that reminds us of the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve of those who fought to establish a nation founded on the God-given truths that all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.
The Revolutionary War demanded extraordinary courage. Farmers, tradesmen, ministers, and ordinary citizens left their homes and families to stand for liberty, knowing that failure could cost them everything. Their perseverance helped lay the foundation for the nation we call home today.
As Christian Templars, we honor their sacrifice while remembering that our highest allegiance belongs to Jesus Christ, the King of Kings. Earthly nations are temporary, but God's Kingdom is eternal. Still, we give thanks for the freedoms we have been blessed with—especially the freedom to worship, proclaim the Gospel, and live out our faith without fear.
This Independence Day carries special significance. America turns 250 years old. It is an opportunity not only to celebrate our nation's history, but also to reflect on our responsibility as Christians to be faithful stewards of the liberties entrusted to us. Freedom is sustained not only by brave soldiers, but by virtuous citizens who seek justice, love mercy, walk humbly with God, and stand firm in truth.
May we remember those who secured our independence through sacrifice, those who preserved our Union through sacrifice, and all who have answered the call to defend liberty throughout our nation's history.
As modern Templars, our battle is spiritual. We are called to put on the full armor of God, defend the innocent, uphold truth, extend mercy, and bring honor and glory to Christ in all that we do.
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage."
— Psalm 33:12
Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸
May God continue to bless our nation, and may we always remember that true freedom is found in Christ alone.
