They say God put you in place where you are needed, Today was that day. I was leaving Church and I saw this young lady looking as though she was terrified I looked at my service dog Marylee and my Wife then I approached carefully, I asked if she was ok, and one of her family members mentioned she was in Afghanistan and her unit was attacked and she lost a good friend on this day, I mentioned I was there in 2001 and know the horror. She looked at me and started to cry, saying that I was the first person who ever came to her and really understood what she went through. we spoke for a few minutes got her to laugh gave her some resources that can help and told her remember lean on the on the Church and our Lord I had to do that a lot there and to this day, and we need to lean on each other.
She smiled and said, "Corpsman UP", I smiled told my wife I hate those two words.
God is good, God is grand, God has the answered even if we do not see them right away.
Fr Benedict once told me, "Prayer is not easy but it can solve a lot of problems". I rebutted and said it is easy to pray, and he can back with the average person does not know how, and that is where you come in to teach them, when I am not in camp.
Pray from the heart and be sincere and our Lord will hear us. Sometimes its best to Pray alone behind close door so you can really hear his voice.
