My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
We are not bystanders. We are soldiers—warriors in the mighty army of the King of Kings! As soldiers of Christ, we must rise each day ready for battle. We are not bystanders. We are soldiers—warriors in the mighty army of the King of Kings! As soldiers of Christ, we must rise each day ready for battle. The very moment you awaken, throw open the windows of your soul! Know this: you are standing on a battlefield. Before you lies a choice etched in eternity—fight or die.
See now your enemy—your vice, your weakness, that lurking disorder in your soul. It stands before you, hideous and bold, eager to destroy the grace of God within you. But lift up your eyes! To your right stands Jesus Christ, your Invincible Captain, blazing with glory! With Him, the Queen of Heaven—Mary most holy—stands by, her mantle spread wide over you. Beside her, St. Joseph, Terror of Demons, the hosts of Heaven, choirs of Angels, and especially the great Archangel Michael, sword drawn, ready to strike.
And on your left? The adversary: Lucifer and his legion of darkness. They stir your passions, whisper lies, and wage war against your soul with all the cunning of Hell.
Then your Guardian Angel, radiant with divine fire, cries out:
“Take up your arms! Stand your ground! Be not afraid! Christ, your Captain, is here—He Who shattered death and crushed the gates of Hell! Heaven is with you—Jesus, Mary, the Saints, the Angels. Call upon them! Fight with holy violence. Conquer, or die trying, for God is your strength!”
Do not say, “I am too weak.” The might of Heaven far outweighs the fury of Hell. God—your Creator, your Savior—burns with love for your soul and desires your salvation far more than the devil desires your fall. So fight! Resist temptation, mortify the flesh, crucify your passions. Wage unrelenting war against your disordered inclinations. Every victory is a step toward Heaven. Every blow struck is a triumph of grace.
Today, this very day, in the name of the Lord, begin the fight!
Arm yourself with holy distrust of your own strength and unwavering confidence in God. Call upon the mighty names of Jesus and Mary. Use every faculty of your soul—your mind, your will, your strength—to assault the enemy. Whether it’s by standing firm, practicing the opposite virtue, or employing whatever means Heaven offers, do not relent until the enemy is crushed beneath your heel!
Heaven watches. The Saints cheer you on. The Church Triumphant beholds your struggle. And Christ, the Just Judge, will one day crown your perseverance with everlasting glory.
Remember: no one escapes this war. To flee is to fall. To indulge the flesh is not peace—it is slow destruction. Better to endure the momentary trials of battle than to suffer eternal ruin. Why trade an eternity of joy for passing ease?
So rise, O soldier of Christ! Tighten your armor. Take up your sword. Heaven is your homeland, and God is your strength.
To arms, and onward to victory—under the banner of Christ the King!
