NC resident dolphins are due back any day now, in fact, I'd say by my journals, they are a few days late this year.
People are missing them. I'm missing them. I call the local, year round dolphins my water puppies. They act just like a dog who hasn't seen you all day, when you get home, they jump, act excited, and express great joy.

All of us locals know when they are gone. The sea seems empty without them. Oh, we get visiting summer dolphins, but it's not the same. They stay in the back waters and never come ocean side all summer and they are only here while our resident dolphins are gone, about two months.
Yesterday, on my walk, three friends expressed their disappointment in not seeing our resident dolphins Oceanside. Any day now, any day.
As I sit here this morning, the sea is right for them; fairly calm and winds are okay. I'm hopeful to see a fin. A good kind of fin. I've even been asked by a complete stranger to call her if I see them. I think to myself, "why aren't we all as excited and anticipating about the return of our Savior The Christ? I've said it before and I'll say it again, we could all learn a few things from dolphins." Joy, dedication, obedience to the spirit, sacrifice for another, and peacefulness.
