🌿 Christ at Home in Your Heart
Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:17 is more than a request for us to believe in Jesus. It is a prayer that Christ would dwell deeply within us through faith
A house can have a guest who stays for a short time, or it can become someone's permanent home. Paul is describing something deeper: Christ is not meant to be an occasional visitor in our lives. He is meant to dwell in our hearts—to influence our thoughts, decisions, words, relationships, and actions.
But Paul connects this with being “rooted and established in love.”
A tree with shallow roots may look strong until the storm comes. But a tree with deep roots can withstand the wind because its foundation is beneath the surface.
Our faith is the same.
When we are rooted in God's love, circumstances do not determine our identity. Rejection does not define us. Failure does not destroy us. Success does not control us. Storms may come, but our foundation remains.
God's love is not something we earn by performing perfectly. It is something we receive and allow to transform us.
⚔️ Faith for Today
Today, ask yourself:
Is Christ merely part of my life, or is He at the centre of it?
Let your faith go deeper than emotions. Let God's love become the foundation from which you live, serve, forgive, persevere, and love others.
When Christ dwells deeply within you, you don't have to fight every battle trying to prove your worth. You can stand securely in the knowledge that you are loved by God.
🛡️ Practical Action
Today, before making an important decision or responding to a difficult situation, pause and ask:
“Am I responding from God's love or from my emotions?”
Then choose the response that reflects Christ.
🙏 Prayer
Lord Jesus,
dwell deeply in my heart through faith. Root me so firmly in Your love that the storms of life cannot move me. Teach me to live from the security of knowing that I am loved by You. Let Your love shape my thoughts, my words, my decisions, and my actions. May my life reflect the presence of Christ within me.
Amen.
✝️ Thought for the Day
“When Christ is at home in your heart, God's love becomes the foundation beneath your feet.”
Have a blessed day
