Devotion
Following Christ is not simply something we do on Sundays or when life is going well. Christ calls us to give Him our whole lives. To live for Christ means that our words, choices, relationships, work, and actions should point toward Him.
Paul understood this deeply. He knew that whether he lived or died, his purpose belonged to Jesus. His life was not centered on comfort, possessions, reputation, or personal ambition. His identity and hope were found in Christ.
To say, “I live for Christ and I die for Christ,” is to surrender our lives completely to Him. It means trusting God when the road is difficult, remaining faithful when others walk away, and standing firm when our faith is tested.
We do not need to seek suffering or death. Instead, we are called to faithfully live the life God has given us, loving others, proclaiming the Gospel, and remaining obedient to His Word. If hardship comes because of our faith, we can stand with courage because our eternal hope is secure in Christ.
The world may change, people may disappoint us, and circumstances may become uncertain—but Jesus remains Lord. Our greatest victory is not simply having a comfortable life; it is being faithful to Christ until the end.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Help me to live every day for You. Let my thoughts, words, decisions, and actions bring glory to Your name. Give me courage when my faith is tested and strength when the road becomes difficult. Teach me to surrender my ambitions and desires to Your will.
May I never be ashamed of the Gospel. Help me remain faithful to You in both good times and difficult times. Whether I have many years ahead or my journey is nearing its end, let my life belong completely to You.
For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
