Direction and Guidance in Life
Scripture:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6»
Devotion
Life often feels like a road filled with choices, crossroads, and uncertainty. We may know where we want to go, but we do not always know which path will take us there. Sometimes we ask, “Lord, what should I do? Which way should I go?”
God does not expect us to navigate life alone.
The Bible reminds us to trust Him rather than depending entirely on our own understanding. Our vision is limited, but God sees the beginning, the middle, and the end. What looks like a dead end to us may be a doorway to something He has prepared.
God's guidance does not always come through a dramatic sign. Sometimes it comes through His Word, prayer, wisdom, circumstances, or the quiet conviction of the Holy Spirit. The key is learning to slow down and listen.
When we surrender our plans to God, we acknowledge that His direction is better than our own. We may not always understand where He is leading, but we can trust the One who is leading us.
Do not be afraid of an uncertain future. You do not need to see the whole road to take the next step. Ask God for wisdom, seek His will, and remain faithful to what He has already shown you.
Reflection
Am I asking God to guide my life, or am I asking Him to bless the direction I have already chosen?
Today, surrender your plans to Him. Let God order your steps, even when you cannot see what lies ahead.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Guide my steps and direct my path. When I am uncertain, give me wisdom. When I am afraid, give me courage. When I want to rush ahead, teach me patience. Help me to recognize Your voice and follow Your leading.
Lord, I surrender my plans, my dreams, and my future into Your hands. Keep me from paths that will lead me away from You, and lead me toward the purpose You have prepared for my life.
I may not know what tomorrow holds, but I know that You hold tomorrow.
Amen.
Quote
“You may not know where the road leads, but you can trust the One who leads you.”
