Grateful
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1
Gratitude is more than simply saying, “Thank You, Lord.” It is a posture of the heart—a decision to recognize God’s goodness even when life does not look the way we expected.
It is easy to be grateful when everything is going well. But true gratitude is revealed when we can still praise God in difficult seasons. When we have unanswered questions, when doors close, when we face disappointment, we can still remember that God has never stopped being faithful.
Sometimes we focus so much on what we do not have that we forget to thank God for what He has already given us. We have life, another day, people who love us, opportunities to serve, and most importantly, salvation through Jesus Christ.
Gratitude changes our perspective. It turns our attention from our problems toward the One who holds us through them. When we begin each day with thanksgiving, we remind ourselves that our circumstances do not determine God’s goodness.
Today, stop for a moment and remember what God has done for you. Thank Him for the blessings you can see, and even thank Him for the things you cannot yet understand. Trust that He is working, even when you cannot see the outcome.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to have a grateful heart. Forgive me for the times I have focused on what I lack instead of thanking You for what You have already given me. Help me to recognize Your blessings, trust Your plan, and praise You in every season. May my gratitude become a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Reflection
What are three things you can thank God for today?
Quote
“A grateful heart sees blessings where others only see circumstances.”
