Hello, Templar family,
This special day came up in my Facebook memories today and I thought I'd share a few photos of the day with you all. It was seven years ago today, that our Grand Prior, my husband, GP Derek Nordio was knighted. This special day came up in my Facebook memories today and I thought I'd share a few photos of the day with you all. It was seven years ago today, that our Grand Prior, my husband, GP Derek Nordio was knighted. The knighting took place in a very beautiful and historic little church in Caanan, CT, with our Grand Master GM Rick Trujillo, part of the ceremony.
In the first photo you will see Grand Master's daughter, Heather, standing just behind Grand Prior, holding his mantle, as she served as the Draper at the Investiture.
In the second photo, you will see by the expression on Grand Prior's face, that it was a very moving ceremony for him and Grand Master is reaching out with a hand of comfort to his shoulder.
In the third photo you will see him holding his Letters of Patent. When Grand Prior decided he was going to become a Templar, he was "all in" and he had a strong and undeterred desire to do the best he could. And, as a testament to that, you can see from the certificate that he was knighted at the highest rank, a Knight Commander. And, within two weeks he was leading a Priory. And, he hasn't stopped charging forward since!
That day I was so proud of him and I still am. His commitment to the Templars has been and remains unwavering and unshakeable. He IS a warrior. And, as long as God allows it, I'll always stand by his side. God bless you, GP Derek!
